My Hometown, Kuala Besut.

Hi guys. I have something special to share today. It is about the story of my hometown, Kuala Besut. I live here is around 17 years. My father has a shop in this small town, selling frozen food such as imported meat, burger, nugget, etc …

Kuala Besut is one of a small town in Terengganu. It is not same with the other small town in Malaysia because it has its own uniqueness. Here, I think, more than 30% of population is fishermen or as known as ‘nelayan’ in Malay.

If you guys like to travel, Kuala Besut is one of the best destinations for you. It is because Kuala Besut is the hub between mainland and Pulau Perhentian or Perhentian Island in English. There is not ferry service to go there. The only way to get there is by taking boat or speedboat and it normally takes around 1 hour for normal boat and half an hour for speedboat. The ticket price is about RM30 (one way). I am sorry because I do not know the chalet’s rate per night over there. Honestly, I never been there before even though I live here from 1990 (2004 I am moving to Malacca to continue my study). I have a plan to go there and Insyaallah, I will be there one day with my friends or my love perhaps. ;p

Every morning, there is ‘pasar pagi’ at Pasar Kuala Besut. It gathers restaurant’s owners and ‘penjaja’ to buy their stock such as vegetables at very cheap price. It is a bulk sale actually where the buyers buy their needs in large quantity. ‘Penjaja’ is the one who carrying the stocks from one place to another by van and selling those stocks in smaller village.

I think, that all that I manage to tell you about my hometown. If you want to know more, you may contact me personally. I have some agencies’ contact to go to Perhentian Island and honestly I have zero profit for it.
